Papiya joined the Kantha embroidery business of her husband nine years ago. She never received formal training; however, she was quick to pick up skills by watching her neighbours embroider. Over the years she has honed her skills and dexterity and today engages over 1000 women artisans through agents for embroidery job work. She sources best quality fabrics locally and retails her products through outlets at Srishtishree, Karmatirtha, and different government fairs.
