  • “Weavers, weaving at break of day,
Why do you weave a garment so gay?
Blue as the wing of a halcyon wild,
We weave the robes of a new-born child.
    Sarojini Naidu
Sarojini Naidu has given three-phase of life and weaving into words effortless. We can’t agree more about the symbol of the glorious culture, renowned tradition and source of livelihood, ‘Handloom’. Yogendra son of Mr Netram Dewangan, from a small village Champa in Chhattisgarh is a passionate weaver who not only creates magical fabric but also helps disabled people. Yogendra always has seen his father Mr Netram Dewangan creating fabric, he thought his father was a magician as he creates a fabric with thread. Since then Yogendra wanted to be the same magician like his father. Yogendra has started weaving at an early age in his life. He was so fascinated with the creation of fabric with threads that he can’t keep himself away from magical process weaving but he also knows the importance of studies hence Yogendra has completed his graduation. Yogendra has worked hard and now has taken ‘Yogamaya weavers’ to a totally next level. Yogendra has started the Yogamaya weavers with the intent to motivate disable and provide them with a livelihood. Yogendra not only trained them as a teacher but also encourages them as a friend. A boy from a small village Champa in Chhattisgarh has not only given people livelihood but the reason to smile. Yogamaya weavers specialised in making Khadi Kosa desi Tussar yarn/Ahimsa Silk, Handloom Kosa sarees, Dupattas and dress materials. Yogendra has proved that if your intentions are true and good nothing can stop you to fly high.”
